John Aegerter

Born 7.24.1929 in the Schwarzsee area of Fribourg, died 7.12.2019

It is our sad task to inform you of the loss of John Aegerter who has been a valued founding and supporting member of MRF for a number of years.

John passed away at 2 AM of July 12 at the Blue Bell Place retirement home, with Helen Phillips on his side, only twelve days before his ninetieth’s birthday. John was blessed with excellent health until his recent past where he unfortunately became increasingly frail. Besides being a founding member (2014) of the MRF he was an active member (1989) of the New Helvetic Society where he was a passionate participant of the Swiss card game group – the Jass club – and was a longtime member (1974) of Swiss Benevolent Society as well.

John moved to Grafton, Canada in his early twenties and a few years later immigrated to the Philadelphia area, where he was a professional tree surgeon throughout his career. John is survived by a sister and many nieces and nephews, who all live in Switzerland. John will be cremated and his remains will be buried in Switzerland.

Condolences can be mailed to: Lina Gurtner, Gesellschaftstr.81, 3012 Bern, Switzerland.
